Full Description
Discover the powerful history behind the Burma Railway, also known as the “Death Railway,” on this 10-hour historical tour to Kanchanaburi, located approximately 130 kilometers west of Bangkok.
Upon arrival, visit the beautifully maintained Kanchanaburi War Cemetery, where around 9,000 Allied soldiers are laid to rest. These prisoners of war lost their lives during the construction of the railway, which was intended by the Japanese army to connect Thailand with Burma (Myanmar) during World War II.
Continue to the Thailand-Burma Railway Centre, an interactive museum and research center dedicated to telling the story of the railway. Through photographs, artifacts, and detailed exhibits, you will gain a deeper understanding of the hardships endured by POWs and laborers.
Experience history firsthand with a train ride along the original Death Railway track. After disembarking, enjoy a delicious lunch before beginning the return journey to Bangkok. You will arrive back in the late afternoon with hotel drop-off included.
