Full Description
Meet your guide at River City Bangkok at your selected departure time (08:00 AM, 10:00 AM, or 12:00 PM). Travel by local transport to Rattanakosin Island, the historic heart of Bangkok. Along the way, pass the famous Amulet Market, one of the city’s most historic community markets.
Your first stop is the Temple of the Emerald Buddha, officially known as Wat Phra Kaew, Thailand’s most sacred Buddhist temple. The temple complex is home to the revered Emerald Buddha and features dazzling golden chedis, colorful rooftops, and intricate mosaic details.
Continue to the nearby Grand Palace, the former official residence of the Kings of Thailand. Although no longer a royal residence, the palace remains an important venue for state ceremonies and royal events.
If you select the extended option, proceed to Wat Pho, passing Tha Tien Market along the way. Wat Pho is one of Thailand’s highest-grade royal temples and home to the magnificent Reclining Buddha. It is also recognized as the birthplace of traditional Thai massage and was Thailand’s first center for public medical education. The temple’s inscriptions have been acknowledged by UNESCO’s Memory of the World Programme.
Complete your temple journey at Wat Arun, also known as the Temple of Dawn. Located on the banks of the Chao Phraya River, its iconic 70-meter prang (tower) is decorated with delicate pieces of colored glass and Chinese porcelain, making it one of Bangkok’s most photographed landmarks.
