Full Description
Begin your journey from Bangkok in a comfortable, air-conditioned vehicle and travel north to Ayutthaya, once one of the most prosperous cities in Asia.
Your first stop is Wat Lokayasutharam, home to the impressive giant reclining Buddha image, one of the few structures that survived the destruction of the ancient city.
Continue to Wat Phra Sri Sanphet, the most important temple of the Ayutthaya Kingdom. As part of the former Royal Palace complex, this temple was used for significant royal ceremonies and remains one of the city’s most iconic landmarks.
Next, visit Wat Mahathat, one of the oldest and most historically significant temples in Ayutthaya. It once housed sacred Buddha relics and is now famous for the serene Buddha head entwined within the roots of a Bodhi tree.
After exploring the temples, enjoy a delicious Thai lunch at a carefully selected local restaurant.
Conclude your journey at Wat Chaiwattanaram, a magnificent riverside temple influenced by the architectural style of Angkor Wat in Cambodia. Stroll through the grand prang towers and admire the symmetry and beauty of this remarkable site before returning to Bangkok.
